2010 Diabète Québec/MDRC Travel awards
This year again the MDRC is proud to offer 6 student travel awards of $700
each, for MSc, PhD students as well as post-doc. The awards have to be used to cover
registration fees and travel expenses for MDRC students that will give an oral or poster
presentation in a scientific meeting.
We planed two series of awards this year; the first one (4 awards) for
meeting that have been held in spring and summer and the second serie (2 awards) for fall
and winter meetings.
Students are invited to submit their candidature before August 15, 2010
by sending the following documents:
- Proof of registration
- A submitted & accepted abstract
- Title, location and date of the meeting
- The CV of the student

Late in August, a committee will be formed to select the recipients who will
be notify early in September.

2010 Best Oral and Poster Presentations
The MDRC is pleased to announce the selection of the recipients for
the Best Oral and Poster Presentations held at the MDRC retreat last January. This year we
had 6 speakers and 41 posters that were evaluated by 6 panels of reviewers. The panels selected the
following recipients:
Best Oral Presentation ($500)

Best Poster Presentations ($400)

- Phillip White, PhD, Marette lab
- Pedro Geraldes, Post-Doc, King lab
